Tyler... the Lucky Wolf

Crazy or not?

Brain Droppings

So guess what, I think my house has a, I can't believe I'm about to say this, a ghost in it. I have no experience with this stuff, I mean hell, I'm a fuckin' atheist! I don't believe anything on faith or with out some shred of proof, but damn, I cannot deny what I've been experiencing.

Over the past month or so, late at night, form 11pm to 1am usually I'm the only one up, insomnia is evil btw. Anyway. where my bedroom is located, you walk out into a large loft area that overlooks the front entry way on one side and the living room on the other side. I can literally walk out of my bedroom, and immediately look downstairs, over the loft railing, and see the front door. I can clearly hear when anyone comes in or leaves the house, I can even hear the doorknob being turned and people walking up and down the staircase.

And thats EXACTLY what I've been hearing off and on between 11pm and 1am. Someone jiggling the doorknob and sometimes even walking up or down the stairs. I HEAR the floorboards creaking even as the steps progress. At first when I started noticing it, I just thought mom was up and making sure the door was locked. No big deal. Come to find out after looking, she's sound asleep.

Cory is normally out by then too, and the dogs, well my dog Raze is always with me in my room and Boo, mom's little Scottish Terrier sleeps in her room. So everyone is accounted for. There is no one in the house making the sounds. I've actually been in the loft area when I hear it and quickly get up to look, and nothing is there. And to make matters even more creepy, Raze will sit and growl at my bedroom door. He's extremely protective of me and won't let anyone he doesn't know near me.

Well, tonight, mom, Cory, myself and my grandparents (on dad's side) all went out to a nice restaurant for dinner. While we were waiting for out food, I said, "Mom, can I ask you something that might be a little disturbing?"

She understandably gave me this odd look and said, "Sure hon, what is it?"

I kinda looked at Cory and my grandparents and cautiously told her about what I've been hearing and what my dog's been doing. Now, before I go any farther, I had a talk with *Raini-Tempest and she told me some stuff and whats to be expected and I kinda had a "plan" on how to go about this and where I was going to take it. However, the reaction I got outta my mom was something I didn't expect.

Her eyes got big and almost teared up. She grabbed my hand and held onto it and said that she had been seeing or hearing strange things too. But the one thing that stuck out in our minds the most was the doorknob. My dad was killed in a car wreck almost 3 years ago, November 5th actually, 3 weeks after I turned 14. Well, I had completely forgotten about it till I was chatting with Raini-Tempest about it, but Dad ALWAYS checked the front and back doorknobs to make sure they were locked at night before going to bed.

And her dog Boo, every once in a while, she would be in the bedroom with mom, and all of the sudden perk up, get excited, wag her tail and sometimes whine a little. Almost as if someone had come home after a long period away and she was happy to see them again. Well, Boo is 9 now, so she knew dad very well. I got my dog after dad died, so he never met Dad, which would explain why he would get defensive if he was sensing something out of the ordinary, and anyone that lives with dogs know they have senses far better than our own. So for them to pick up on this isn't surprising.

Anyway, like I said, this is all so freaking new and weird to me, that I still don't know if I can fully believe it. But I certainly can't deny what I've experienced. Raini-Tempest gave me some great advice and information so I'll have to be patient and see how things go. If this is real, it hasn't done anything even remotely threatening, so its nothing to be worried about. For now tho, I've rambled on enough and am shutting up. If anything comes up, I'll be sure to keep you all posted.

Byez!
Ty

That is happiness; to be dissolved into something completely great.
Ghosts and spirits don't REALLY have to be categorized religiously, so being an Atheist that believes in spirits isn't abnormal. Besides who said you had to be strictly Atheist. Personally I just take that as being able to believe in whatever you want and being free from having to follow a set of rules of what to believe.

I see my self as Atheist but I believe in spirits, I also believe that there's something watching over everything... It's a guy... but he has no control over anything, he just sits there and observes... He's not all seeing either. :bucktooth: He can only look one place at one time and... yeah Ill stop there :D

BTW, I love the name Boo for your mom's Terrier :giggle: :D
*stamps the [DORKSTAMP] on my forehead*
As an agnostic i reckon it could happen, logical thought can be applied, its proof of an afterlife therefore a religion of which one may or may not be true...

Everything said in this signiture is a lie.

The above statement and comment is true
One thing I learned when we had dogs... PAY ATTENTION to them. Growing up we had a couple dogs and BOTH of them would growl at empty staircases. I caught our lab, one morning watching something in my bedroom. If it weren't' for the dogs, I wouldn't be a believer in "ghosts" to this day. And like you, I am an atheist.

Though "heaven" and "hell" are myths, I do accept there is something... another realm, plain of existence, another reality... something along those lines that is there and where everyone is meant to go. You don't need to be a believer in god, heaven or hell for that.

If it's really there and IF it's really your dad, I'd say embrace it. Don't be afraid of it. If it is your dad, I'm sure he wouldn't do or allow anything to harm you. Just be cool with it and everything will work out.
